Ever since a burglar poisoned a retired police K9 on Wednesday, there’s been an outpouring of public support from people wanting to help. Wednesday evening a Redding Police Officer and his family arrived at their home on Trumpet Drive to discover that someone had broken into the house. Numerous guns were taken and Tarro, a former Redding Police K9 who’s spending his retirement as the family dog, was looking very ill. He was taken to Asher Veterinary Hospital for treatment and is now back at home recovering. His veterinary bills have been covered by community donations. It’s believed the break-in happened between 6AM and 1PM on Wednesday. An anonymous donor has offered to boost the reward in hopes of catching the perpetrator. $20,000 is now available for anonymous tips at 243-2319 or scsecretwitness.com.
