Voters in Shasta County will have a new experience with the process starting this year. Materials mailed to voters are reformatted, as well as the ballots at the voting booth. There are new voting machines with better security and efficiency, according to County Clerk Cathy Darling-Allen. The ballots themselves will be completed by filling in bubbles rather than connecting arrows. All of the changes will be showcased during an open house next Wednesday the 18th from 3PM to 7PM at the Clerk’s Office and Elections Department, located at the south end of the Market Street Promenade in Downtown Redding.
