Burn Season Ends In Redding, Permits Required For Higher Elevations

Pile burning season is over. Nobody should be burning piles below an elevation of one thousand feet. For property owners above a thousand feet, a permit is required by CalFire. City of Redding burn permits are no longer valid, and a burn ban is also in effect for the cities of Shasta Lake and Anderson. Now is the time for people to help firefighters save their homes by cleaning up property and clearing dry weeds from one hundred feet around structures. Work needs to be done carefully, though, especially when using metal-bladed tools.
