Nurses at Shasta Regional Medical Center have voted to join a branch of the California Nurses Association. The secret ballot election was done by the National Labor Relations Board. On Tuesday they reported the results were 267 in favor and 30 opposed. The union will now represent 400 nursing assistants, lab techs, respiratory therapists, orderlies, housekeepers, admitting staff and other Shasta Regional employees. 350 registered nurses had already voted to join the union. The nurses at Mercy Medical Center are already represented by the same union.
