Teen Taken Into Custody For Convenience Store Shooting

An arrest has been made in Monday night’s shooting at an East Redding convenience store. Just before 10 O’clock, 18-year-old Tristen Vandenburgh was in a dispute with a man at the Circle K at Hartnell and Churn Creek. The argument ended with Vandenburgh getting shot twice. He then drove himself to Mercy Medical Center, where two bullets were removed. He’s since been released from the hospital. Investigators collected evidence, questioned witnesses and reviewed surveillance video from several businesses, leading them to obtain an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Tylor Loki Ward, and a search warrant for a home on Oxford Lane. When officers arrived at the home Wednesday Ward was out front and he was apprehended. During questioning at the police station ward allegedly admitted to shooting Vandenburgh. Ward was booked into jail on charges including attempted murder.
