The Creek Incident has grown a little, spreading by about 125 acres, but containment has improved. Cal-Fire is now saying that four homes are confirmed destroyed, along with 7 other minor structures in the series of fires that started southwest of Redding early Sunday afternoon. The sheriff’s office and Cal-Fire investigators are still seeking a vehicle of interest, described as a gold or tan minivan, possibly a 1990’s model Dodge Caravan or something similar. Many evacuations have been lifted. The only roads that remain closed are Cloverdale from Cloverview to the Cloverdale Trailhead and Clear Creek Road from Honeybee to the county dump. Details on the lifted evacuations can be found on the KQMS Facebook Page. The fire has burned more than of 1475 acres and is now 65% contained. Damage assessments are still underway. Steep and difficult terrain is challenging firefighters in the Clear Creek Gorge but containment lines continue to be strengthened. Tuesday morning the Board of Supervisors ratified the sheriff’s State of Emergency declaration.
