A man died after jumping from Burney Falls. A little before 6 O’clock Friday evening witnesses reported the man had jumped from the falls and had not resurfaced. State Parks Personnel, Cal-Fire, the CHP, Burney Fire Department and Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies could not find the victim, so the dive team was called and they eventually pulled the body from the water. The 30-year-old man’s name is withheld until family is notified.
