Fallen Chiefs Funeral Procession Will Run From Redding To Red Bluff

The people of Redding are encouraged to show their respects to the late well-loved Fire Chief Gerry Gray by turning out to watch his funeral procession go by. The popular Chief died at the age of 54 last week. At 10:30AM Thursday morning a long line of emergency vehicles from various agencies will leave the Redding Civic Auditorium parking lot and head west into Downtown Redding. The procession will take Shasta Street to California Street, then over to Market Street to Cypress Avenue and then to Interstate 5. The line will take the first Red Bluff exit on Main Street and go through town, then west on Luther Road to the High Point Assembly Of God. The memorial service begins at 1 O’clock. A reception will follow at the Tehama County Fairgrounds. The procession will require several temporary road closures and other drivers are asked not to interrupt the line of vehicles. Redding Firefighters are asking that people take a few minutes and stand along the route, particularly along California Street and Cypress Avenue.
