The cause of a fire in East Redding Monday afternoon is under investigation. The vegetation fire broke out at around 4:20PM in an open field behind some homes on Lawrence Road. Redding Fire Investigator Patrick O’Connor says it was along a well-traveled transient path on private property. He says that although it was a direct result of human activity, the exact cause is not known and anyone with information is urged to contact the fire department. The burn was held to about 3/4’s of an acre.
