The Stone Fire burning the Modoc National Forest has grown to 33,941 acres. The fire is currently 21% contained and crews are reporting that the fire showed moderate activity overnight. The fire lines are holding along Highway 139 and west of Canby, and crews are working to mop up the fire in that area. Crews worked overnight on the southern edge of the fire and completed fire lines south of the Cal-Fire Station and on Rose Canyon Road east of County Road 91. Most of the fires activity is on the western and northwestern edges. The evacuations have been lifted for County Road 214 and County Road 215. All other orders remain in effect. Crews continue to look for hot spots and protect power lines. A red flag warning has been issued for the area for today. Motorists should expect delays on Highway 299.
