Chemical Spill Reported At Trinity County Marijuana Grow

A raid of an illegal cannabis cultivation site in the Burnt Ranch area of Trinity County has led to the discovery of a number of chemicals that are tainting a creek. Some of the chemicals aren’t even legal to possess in the Untied States. A search warrant was served at the location on Tuesday by state fish and wildlife agents. When they discovered the spill they called Trinity County Environmental Health to clean it up. AA public alert has been issued to warn the public about the possible contamination of an unnamed tributary to Mill Creek, which in turn flows into the Trinity River. The pesticides include Carbofuran, Methamidophos and Avermectin B1. The parcel off of Underwood Mountain Road is now under quarantine.
