Redding Police have released information about an incident at an East Redding restaurant. Officers were called at 8 O’clock Sunday night on reports that a fight was taking place inside the restaurant. A customer had recognized an employee as somebody he knew and despised in high school. After words were exchanged, the two got into a physical fight. The customer was gone when officers arrived, but after police left the man returned with several associates and they attacked the building, breaking many windows as customers inside took shelter under their tables from the flying glass shards. Officers returned as the attackers were running away and four of them were caught. Three are juveniles so their names are not available. The other one is 19-year-old Chayse Rivers of Redding. Police are investigating whether the incident may have been gang-related.
