PG&E: Broken Equipment, Bullet Holes Reported Near Camp Fire Ignition Point

PG&E has reported damage to a pole near the location where the Camp Fire started. The utility had reported that a hook attached to an insulator on a tower on a 115 Kilovolt transmission line had broken, leaving a jumper and insulator suspended above the ground. There was also a flash mark on the tower. On Wednesday the company reported damage to a pole on a smaller transmission line nearby. An employee reported that a power pole was on the ground, with bullet holes at the point where the pole had been broken off. At another location, an employee found power poles and lines on the ground with snapped trees on top of them. The company gave no indication of whether there’s a suspected connection with the damaged areas. The cause of the fire that started November 8th is still under investigation.
