Gas Tax Funding Headed To North State

Cal-Trans has announced a new round of funding for projects in Northern California, with some of the funding coming from the recently voter-confirmed gas tax. 11.8 Million Dollars will be used to repair damage along Interstate 5 that was caused by the Delta Fire, including culverts, signage, fencing, pavement, guardrail and concrete. $450,000 is going toward a bike and pedestrian path along Highway 299 from Middle Creek Road to Shasta Street in Old Shasta. $640,000 will be used for repairs to the O’brien Overcrossing of Interstate Five at Lake Shasta. Nearly 3 Million Dollars is allocated for improvement to highways in Trinity County. Millions more will go to Lassen and Modoc Counties. 2.7 Million Dollars will be spent in a five county area to upgrade chain control facilities. Seventeen different projects to encourage walking and biking will cost $12 Million.
