State Assemblyman Brian Dahle has announced some key endorsements in his run for State Senate. Dahle was just reelected to his District One seat, but immediately announced his intention to seek the Senate seat being vacated by Ted Gaines, who has won a seat on the Board of Equalization. The BOE was stripped of many of its powers recently in a maneuver by Governor Jerry Brown. Boardmembers salaries are $50,000 more than State Senators’ salaries. Dahle, a Republican, was until recently the Minority Party Leader in the Assembly. His Senate run has been endorsed by 4 of the 5 members of the Shasta County Board of Supervisors, as well as Sheriff Tom Bosenko and the Shasta County Farm Bureau. So far he’s the only announced Senate candidate from the First Assembly District. The date of the special election has not yet been declared.
