Update: Thieves Allegedly Fire Shots From Stolen Pickup

A Rancho Tehama man made the right choice when he asked Harold Robinson to look after his place while he was away. Robinson called Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies a little before 10AM Wednesday to say someone was driving away in a Ford F-350 that belongs to the homeowner, Nicholas Chavez. Robinson followed his friend’s stolen truck to Flores avenue, even though the truck’s passenger, identified as 19-year-old Benjamin Pierce-Flores, was shooting at him, firing at least six rounds from a rifle. The driver of the truck, 24-year-old Danielle Ede, reportedly made an effort to foil the pursuer as well, driving the big truck over the front of Robinson’s car and ramming it four times. The truck took plenty of damage from the encounters and became stuck in the Flores Avenue area. Ede fled along with Pierce-Flores, who reportedly took the rifle with him. Area residents were notified and Gerber Elementary was placed on lockdown until the fugitive couple was found at a home on Windmill Street in Proberta. Robinson ID’d them and they were booked into jail. Chavez’s truck was packed with about $11,000 worth of his things that had been taken from his house.
