Fire Destroys Shed Occupied By Transients

A shed that was being used by transients has burned down in East Redding. At around 1AM Monday, Redding Firefighters responded to a fire at 2169 Penn Drive. They found a 10 by 10 shed ablaze, with flames spreading to surrounding vegetation and garbage. It took crews about an hour to put it out. During the investigation, it was found that transients had been living in the shed for some time. There were also signs that people had been living in other areas of the backyard and house that were not meant for occupancy. The shed was destroyed, but there were no injuries reported.
