Cottonwood Teen Arrested For Felony Assault Captured In Viral Video

Redding Police have made an arrest as a result of a video has that appears to show an act of random brutality in Downtown Redding. The brief bit of footage has been widely seen. It apparently took place on the lower level of the downtown parking structure. A young man is seen running up to a homeless man lying on the ground and kicking him in the head. Redding Police went to the location and found the victim, who still had visible injuries to his face from the attack. Redding Police investigators worked with school resource officers to try and identify the perpetrator. The sheriff’s office helped lead investigators to a 15-year-old boy from Cottonwood. He was arrested at his home Tuesday afternoon and booked into juvenile hall for felony assault. Witnesses are still being sought by Redding Police.
