“Chronic Offender” Taken Into Custody By APD

Another chronic offender is off the streets. Early Tuesday morning, Anderson Police Officers arrested 21-year-old James Dennis Potter of Anderson on five outstanding warrants. Potter was designated as a chronic offender due to the high volume of calls for service he creates, his involvement in multiple thefts, and habitual trespassing issues. Potter also frequently fails to appear in court. In the last year and a half, he’s been contacted by police 47 times and arrested 11 times. His alleged offenses include theft, drug possession, trespassing, and illegal camping. Potter will remain in custody until he is sentenced on his pending cases.
