A man who Redding Police say was driving on the wrong side of the road Tuesday night was arrested after a traffic stop. According to police, Officer Ellis saw 23-year-old Jimmy Day Blankenship III driving on the opposite side of the roadway in the 2300 block of Corona Street at about 10:15PM. A records checked showed Blankenship was on probation so Officer Ellis conducted a probation check. The search reportedly uncovered about an ounce of heroin and a large amount of cash. Based on the evidence, officers went to Blankenship’s home and conducted a search that reportedly uncovered additional cash. In all over $4000 Dollars was found that officers believe was the result of drug sales. Blankenship was booked into the Shasta County Jail.
