A woman has been arrested after smashing a truck into a tree at a busy East Redding intersection Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened just before 4 O’clock at Hartnell and Churn Creek. 35-year-old Ashley Solberg had a 3-year-old girl with her when the truck left the road and collided with a tree in front of the Circle K Store. It also apparently struck an electrical box and caused a power outage in the area. Several bystanders and the store clerk rushed over to help. The child was uninjured. Solberg was booked into jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and felony child abuse.
