Man Accused Of Murdering Woman Will Stand Trial

A Redding man has been ordered to stand trial for the alleged murder of a young woman he had met for a date. The body of 20-year-old Larissa Marie Cole was found October 27th behind Viking Skate Country. After interviewing multiple witnesses and collecting a lot of evidence, Redding Police investigators identified 21-year-old Jerome Denell Dzwonek as their suspect. Larissa’s phone was apparently tracked to a dumpster at Dzwonek’s apartment complex on Butte Street. He was detained and questioned, and a search warrant was served for his vehicle and his home. Several items of incriminating evidence were apparently found. During questioning, Dzwonek allegedly confessed to strangling Larissa during an argument and discarding her body behind the skating rink. A preliminary hearing was held Thursday and Dwzonek was ordered to be held over for trial on murder, a special allegation of lying in wait and another special allegation of kidnapping. He’ll be arraigned June 25th.
