Crews Quickly Stop Spread Of 2 Acre Fire In North Redding

A fire in North Redding threatened homes Monday afternoon, but Redding Firefighters halted the flames before they reached any structures. The fire broke out around 1:30PM between Highway 273 and Redwood Boulevard. Forward progress was stopped 15 minutes later at around two acres but it jumped the road and burned another three quarters of an acre. The cause is under investigation. Because of the threat to homes, a second alarm brought all department resources to the scene.
