7 Pounds Of Heroin Seized During Traffic Stop Near Weed

A large quantity of Heroin was found after a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County, according to the sheriff’s office there. On Saturday the Domestic Highway Enforcement Team stopped a Nissan sedan with Oregon plates near Weed for a traffic violation. The car was driven by Alberto Alvarez of Portland. Agents say they observed what they call “criminal indicators”, and also claim that Alvarez consented to a search of the car. Three plastic packages were reportedly found wrapped in brown tape and saran wrap and heat sealed that contained a total of 7 Pounds of Heroin. Alvarez was booked into jail.
