Parts Of Whiskeytown Park Expected To Reopen To The Public Friday

Park Service officials at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area are excited to reopen some areas to the public that have been closed since the Carr Fire devastated the park in 2018. Many areas are still in need of repair, and visitors should always be wary of falling trees, especially on windy days. Beginning on Friday morning, these areas will be accessible:
— Boulder Creek Trail to Boulder Creek Falls from the top of Mill Creek Road, and from South Shore Drive
— Brandy Creek Trail from the beach to the falls trailhead. Brandy Creek Falls suffered severe damage and is still closed
— Papoose Pass Trail from Sheep Camp to the Boulder Creek Trail
— Sheep Camp Primitive Campground
— Brandy Creek Primitive Campground
— Brandy Creek Road
— Mill Creek Road
A series of ranger-led hikes and interpretive programs are scheduled for spring break week April 9th to the 17th. There’s a lot of details at nps.gov/whis.
