Arsonist Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison

A violent Red bluff arsonist has been sentenced. On January 10th, Red Bluff Police were called to the intersection of Monroe and Cedar after 37-year-old Kevin Scott Piper Jr lit a house on fire and then fled down an alley. Witnesses pointed officers in his direction and when they confronted him, Piper brandished a knife at them. After some negotiation and K9 intimidation, Piper surrendered. He was in possession of a lighter and smelled strongly of gasoline. Convicted of arson of an inhabited structure with two prior violent felony strike convictions, Piper has been sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
