Supervisors Being Process Of Doling Out American Rescue Plan Funding

With $35 Million of American Rescue Plan Act funds coming to Shasta County, the Board of Supervisors will ask staff to get a bit more specific about how they would spend it. The federal government allows some flexibility in how the funds are spent, but not full discretion. Public input and direction from the board has led to a rough guideline of $12 Million for public safety, $8 Million for community support, $5 Million for infrastructure and $5 Million for affordable housing. The specific allocations will be fine tuned by the various departments.
