Middle School Student Evaluated By Mental Health After Reported Threat

A reported threat at a Red Bluff school Thursday has ended not with law enforcement, but with mental health. At around 11:30AM the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office was called about a threat to public safety at Berrendos Middle School. A deputy and a detective contacted the juvenile and his guardian and determined the threat was not credible. Further investigation was made at the boy’s home and he was released to the custody of Tehama County Mental Health to be evaluated. School administrators say the student will not be returning to Berrendos Middle School this year.
