An after school program at a small school in the foothills has gotten a grant to expand. The Manton After School Program operates for around 35 children. It currently runs 2 days per week. It’ll be expanded to 5 days per week thanks to a grant of nearly $49,000 from the Tehama County Anti-Gang/Anti-Drug Board. The money comes from forfeited assets from drug busts. The state mandates that 9.75% of such seizures is given to programs that work to keep kids away from gangs and drugs.
