A Redding man has been found guilty of murdering a young woman almost three years ago. 24-year-old Jerome Dennell Dzwonek was convicted by a jury Thursday of the first degree murder and sexual battery of 20-year-old Larissa Cole on October 27th of 2019, along with special circumstances and unrelated crimes. Dzwonek strangled Larissa when they had a disagreement during a date, then dumped her body next to Viking Skate Country. He disposed of evidence, including Larissa’s cell phone, in the dumpster of his own apartment building on Butte Street. Dzwonek is being held without bail and will return to court August 3rd for a hearing on more special allegations. A sentencing date will follow.
