Man Who Crashed Into Motorcycle During Chase In Tehama County Sentenced To 5 Years

An Oakland man has been sentenced for a Tehama County chase in April, during which he hit a motorcyclist and severely injured him. An automated license plate reader in Red Bluff alerted police to a stolen GMC Terrain. Officers intercepted the vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the driver, 37-year-old Devin Woodard, fled at high speed down Highway 99. Red Bluff Police and CHP Officers chased the SUV all the way to Corning, where it turned on South Avenue. Just west of Woodson Avenue the GMC hit a motorcycle and ejected the rider, 19-year-old Julian Barrajas. He suffered internal injuries and multiple broken bones. Woodard tried to run away on foot, but was caught. He’s been sentenced to 5 years in state prison.
