Lightning storms over Siskiyou County have sparked infernos that have grown at terrifying speed. More lightning starts are still being detected. Here are some of the larger incidents, other than the McKinney:

The Shackleford Fire is west of Shackleford Creek near Alder Gulch and Fort Jones is 31 acres with 20% containment.

The China 2 Fire in the Evans Mountain area of Seiad Valley is 1989 acres with no containment.

The Alex Fire east of Condrey Mountain just south of the Oregon border is 140 acres with no containment.

The Kelsey Fire, threatening cabins near the Kelsey Creek Trailhead, is 75 acres with no containment.
