A small bit of containment has been achieved on the Six Rivers Lightning Complex in Trinity and Humboldt Counties. The Six Rivers Complex is made up of six active fires, spread both north and south of Highway 299 in the Willow Creek and Salyer area, and spreading into Hoopa tribal areas. They’ve burned a total of 19,270 acres, now with 17% overall containment. The fires are burning on extremely steep, rugged and difficult to access terrain, making direct ground attack nearly impossible. One structure has been confirmed destroyed, and there have been two injuries. Current evacuation orders can be found at community.zonehaven.com . An emergency forest closure is in effect for all roads, trails and land on the Lower Trinity Ranger District.
