The McKinney Fire is in mop-up and patrol status, still officially 95% contained after burning 60,138 acres and destroying at least 185 structures, including at least 87 homes. Four people were killed by the fire. 11 firefighters and civilians were injured. 925 personnel are still on scene, mostly for suppression repair, and because high fire potential remains in effect for the area. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted. Parts of Highway 96 are still subject to escorted traffic control as crews continue to eliminate dangerous trees and other roadside hazards. The Pacific Crest Trail has reopened.
