A Redding woman died in a motorcycle crash in Trinity County on Monday, according to the CHP. A little before Noon, 68-year-old Sharon Diane Thacker was riding a Honda Shadow Spirit westbound on Highway 299 near Burnt Ranch at around 40 miles an hour approaching a curve when she lost control and struck the guardrail. She was ejected from the bike and fell down a steep dirt and rock embankment before landing on some trees. The motorcycle kept going westbound and came to rest in the eastbound lane. The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash. Any possible witnesses are asked to call 623-3832.
