The Mill Fire is not expected to exceed it’s current size of 3,935 acres. It’s now 80% contained. Residents can access an online interactive map to see if their homes are among the 92 confirmed destroyed. 242 structures are still considered threatened. The Mill Fire is believed to have started from a malfunction at the Roseburg Forest Products Mill in Weed last Friday afternoon. It spread through Lincoln Heights and north to the Community of Lake Shastina. Two women in Weed, ages 66 and 73, were killed, and 3 other civilians were injured. The Roseburg Forest Products Company is providing $50 Million for a community restoration fund to see to the needs of the fire survivors. A legal team has been assembled to handle monetary claims resulting from the damage. Next Wednesday the company will announce how people can make claims.
