A fire right behind the Walmart in Anderson was extinguished Sunday night. It was reported at around 8:30PM as an orange glow on the hillside to the southwest of the big box store. Anderson Fire Protection District contained the fire in less than an hour after it had burned a little over a quarter acre of heavy brush. The cause is under investigation.

A fire burned about 2 acres near Gerber Sunday. It was in the Oat Avenue area of El Camino. It burned mostly brush and grass, but a couple of broken down cars also burned, producing a dark plume of smoke.
