Planning Commission Will Consider Extension Of Permit For 66 Acre Subdivision

A developer will ask the Redding Planning Commission to extend their approval of a subdivision on land that’s been occupied for years by homeless camps. The Bridge View Villas Subdivision would be 161 homes in multi-family townhouses on 66.5 acres. The location is the Lost Lane area west of the Sulphur Creek Hill of North Market Street. Access would be via Lost Lane off North Market, as well as Masonic Avenue off Lake Boulevard. The canyon has been the site of countless escaped cooking and warming fires over the years. The new neighborhood was approved by the planning commission in 2016, but ground was never broken. At Tuesday’s 4 O’clock meeting, a 3 year extension on the permit will be requested.
