Voter intimidation is taking place in Shasta County, according to County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Cathy Darling-Allen. Her office has gotten reports of people contacting voters at their homes with inquiries about their voter registration status. Darling-Allen says this is a violation of state law and is not something that county employees would do. Law enforcement has been notified. Any instances of someone coming to the doors of peoples’ homes and questioning them about their voter registration should be reported to law enforcement or the Registrar of Voters at 225-5730.
