Medford Woman Killed In Crash On I-5 In Yreka

There was a fatal collision Tuesday afternoon on Interstate Five in Siskiyou County. A little after 3 O’clock workers at the Klamath National Forest Service Yreka Headquarters building heard a crash at the Yreka Creek Bridge. The car had come off Southbound I-5 and couldn’t be seen from the roadway. Forest Service employees found the car in the Yreka Creek Greenway. Yreka Police, Cal-Fire, Cal-Trans, Fish and Wildlife Officers and the CHP all showed up to help recover the driver. The 29-year-old woman from Medford had not been wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
