Ballots Sent Out For November General Election

The General Election is less than a month away and ballots are arriving in mailboxes, having been sent on Friday. Voter information guides will be sent out Tuesday. There’s still time to register to vote. The deadline is Monday October 24th, and it can even be done online at registertovote.ca.gov. Ballots can be returned to the clerk’s office anytime. Every registered voter is getting a vote-by-mail ballot, and those who choose to vote in person should bring that ballot and the return envelope with them as it smooths the process. Early voting can be done at the Elections Office at Placer and Market Streets. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before November 8th and must arrive at the Elections Department by November 15th. There are also ballot drop boxes at the City Halls of Redding and Anderson, the Shasta Lake Visitor Center, Redding Electric Utility and the Burney Sheriff’s Substation. Ballot drop boxes are also located in Holiday Markets and some other grocery stores, or they can be dropped at any polling place in the county on election day. A lot of information about the election can be found at shastavotes.org.
