A man apparently intent on burglary was caught downtown early Sunday morning. At around 2AM, an RPD Officer was checking on a burglar alarm at Trilogy Architecture and Design on Pine Street and saw a man walking away. A witness told the officer that he had seen the man flee the building. He refused to stop for the officer, even when a Taser was used, and as back up arrived he kept resisting. When he was taken to the ground he bit an officer’s hand. When Otto the K9 got there, the suspect was himself bitten. Identified as a registered sex offender on parole, 34-year-old Travis McGlaughlin of Red Bluff was treated at a hospital for his injuries before being booked into jail.
