Fire crews responded quickly to several fires in the past 24 hours.
— Air tankers were called shortly after 3PM Tuesday to assist Tehama County ground crews with a vegetation fire in the Bowman area of West Cottonwood. Located near Big Pines Road and Rolling Ridge Road, the fire was held to about an acre.
— There was a structure fire on Millville Plains Tuesday night. It was located on Sprig Way off of Mallard Way. At around 8 O’clock, arriving firefighters from Cal-Fire and Millville Fire had it quickly extinguished.
— A little after 4PM Tuesday afternoon Redding Fire quickly contained a 20-foot-by-40-foot spot off Oasis Road.
— A different vegetation fire broke out a little after 2 O’clock Wednesday morning off Oasis Road. It was burning behind the AM/PM on Cascade Boulevard. Firefighters accessed it by way of Front Street and held it to less than an acre.
