As vote-by-mail ballots were sent to every Shasta County voter last week, about 300 West Redding voters got the wrong type of ballot in the mail. Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Cathy Darling-Allen says the error occurred because of the redistricting that was done after the June primary election, and it’s the type of mistake that’s not uncommon when new district lines are drawn. Each of the affected voters is being contacted. They all live in the Ridgeview and Whitehawk Subdivisions off Pacer Street.
