A man has been sentenced for a high speed chase in Tehama County. 43-year-old Danny Clagget Jr was arrested July 19th after the CHP had received a report of a stolen vehicle traveling southbound on Interstate Five. Officers caught up to the car around Wilcox Golf Road and tried to stop it but Clagget led them on a chase that led onto the Main Street offramp and Antelope Boulevard in Red Bluff, where speeds reached 90 miles an hour. The pursuit then led back onto Interstate Five and reached 120 miles an hour. Clagget tried to evade his pursuers in the orchards around Gerber, but ended up colliding with one of the CHP vehicles, and then got hung up on a utility pole guy wire. Officers pulled Clagget to safety as the stolen car caught fire. He’s been sentenced to 4 years 8 months in state prison.
