Man Faces More Than 80 Years In Prison After Attempted Murder Conviction

A Redding man has been convicted of two counts of attempted murder for shooting his girlfriend and a neighbor. On January 15th of last year, Benjamin Samuel Pouvi-Fata was beating up his girlfriend in their apartment, and the fight spilled over into the next door neighbor’s apartment. As the girlfriend was tending her wounds, Pouvi-Fata went back next door and got his AR-15 style rifle, and returned to shoot both his girlfriend and the male neighbor. On Friday a jury found Pouvi-Fata guilty of a long list of felony charges. When he’s sentenced December 8th, he could be sent to prison for more than 80 years.
