District One Congressman Doug LaMalfa and challenger Max Steiner faced off Thursday night in a Zoom forum hosted by the League of Women Voters in Butte County. It was not a debate as the questions were fielded by a moderator and the candidates did not address each other directly. Nonetheless, the moderator had to remind both of them several times to remain civil and stick to the issues in the questions. The forum can be viewed on YouYube by searching “LaMalfa vs Steiner”.

The only scheduled debate between Governor Gavin Newsom and his challenger, Northstate Senator Brian Dahle, will be Sunday at 1 O’clock on San Francisco public television station KQED. It can be livestreamed for free at kqed.org.
