3 Sex Offenders Arrested During “Operation Boo”

The rules on Halloween for registered sex offenders are pretty simple: no outside decorations, no handing out candy to trick-or-treaters and observe a 5PM curfew after which the front door can only be opened for law enforcement. The annual “Operation Boo” was conducted Monday night by Redding and Anderson Police, the Shasta County Sheriff’s, Probation and Marshal’s Offices and State Parole Agents. The team visited the homes of 31 different registered sex offenders, and the great majority of them were observing the rules. However, three arrests were made: 34-year-old Richard Schwerin of Redding, 76-year-old Louis Romano of Redding and 57-year-old Ronnie Ray of Anderson were all booked into jail.
