Redding and Shasta County residents are usually accustomed to burning their greenwaste piles during the month of November, but Redding Fire Department says “hold your fire” for now. Burning will not be permitted until the fire season is declared over. The good news is there should be plenty of time. During an interview on the KQMS Morning Show last week Chief Jared Vanlandingham said that when pile burning begins, the burn season will remain open all the way until the start of next fire season, likely at the end of April. Once it begins, permits will be required, and they can be obtained for free on the city’s website.
