Remnants Of Native American Village Discovered At Redding Construction Site

A Southeast Redding construction site was once a Native American village, but that won’t keep the building project from going forward. Last Friday morning possible human remains were found at a site off of Meadow View Drive. A Deputy Coroner and a Cultural Resource Monitor at the scene determined it may be an archaeologically significant location. The bones were found to be too small for any sort of forensic identification as human. The site was left in the hands of the cultural monitor and since the initial discovery, many more remains and indeterminate fragments have been found.
